Apple’s HomePod Imminent to Launch in Singapore?

The HomePod is Apple’s Smart Speaker with Siri, announced back in WWDC in 2017 and on sale since February this year only in the US, UK and Australia, without Singapore on the list.

Up until now, there has been no official word when it will be launched in more markets, but it seems that the HomePod is coming to Singapore soon!

With all electronic products such as the iPhone, and other devices need to be certified in Singapore before it goes on sale, a search on IMDA Equipment Search reveals that the HomePod has been certified, with the model, A1639, previously not seen in the list until recently. The model number shares the same as the US.

Apple Watch Series 3 with Cellular Imminent to Launch in Singapore? (Updated: Listings are back on IMDA’s Website)

Apple Watch Series 3Launched back in September 2017, the Apple Watch Series 3 featured a faster processor than the previous version, the Apple Watch Series 2, with the S3 chip which is said to be 70% faster and also came with a Cellular function that was the highlight of Series 3.

However, Singapore only had the GPS function and without cellular. The probable cause is that the carriers do not have support for eSIM for the Apple Watch, which is what powers the cellular connectivity instead of a regular (nano) SIM card.

With all electronic products such as the iPhone, and other devices need to be certified in Singapore before it goes on sale, a search on IMDA Equipment Search reveals that the cellular version of the Apple Watch Series 3 has been certified, with the product or model names, A1889, and A1891, and previously not seen in the list until recently.

iOS 11 Guide: What’s New?

Screen Shot 2017-09-19 at 16.34.48

The public version of iOS 11 is coming on 20 September @ 1am (Singapore time). You can update your iOS devices via over-the-air (OTA) or via iTunes. As it is a major software update, the file size will be large and the updating process will take some time.

If you are in the rush, it is not recommended to update to iOS 11 as it will take a longer time than the other software updates process to complete, and also just in case if the update encounters any errors.

As always, do a backup to iCloud and/or iTunes before updating your software in a case that the software update fails and to avoid any data loss. You may also encounter battery drain during the first few hours of use and it is considered normal as the iOS would need to re-index, like unpacking and labelling your items in place.

While your device updates, so what is new in iOS 11?

In June 2017, Apple announced the next major update of iOS at this year’s WWDC, iOS 11. It comes with lots of new and changes to the design and features of iOS and the biggest leap for the iPad, making multitasking even better.

You can read on all of that changes here

Here are the Changes and New Features in iOS 11:
